In the hard chrome plating department, the company boasts 6 galvanising plants which reach a total depth of 6,500 mm with a diameter of 1,500 mm and a catalysed chrome bath which enhances the hardness, resistance to corrosion and shine.

What does the hard chrome plating process consist of?
Hard chrome plating indicates a process of electro-deposition of a certain thickness of chrome onto the surface of metal pieces requiring treatment, performed using baths with Chromium trioxide (CrO3), sulphuric acid (H2SO4) and water, in specific proportions.
Hard chrome plating is a galvanic treatment with a wide range of applications which aims to provide advantages to metal products thanks to the formation of chrome deposits with particular physical and mechanical properties.
More specifically hard chrome plating is used to increase resistance to wear-and-tear, resistance to corrosion, hardness and the original thickness.

How does the hard chrome plating process work?
The hardening process is based on the use of chromium, which is used on items intended to resist severe wear and tear. In fact, the corrosion resistance properties of hard chrome is due to the formation of a passivating oxide film on the surface which protects the metal and consequently reduces electrochemical corrosion.
